Day Two

Day Two

This is actually a bitter sweet project. Maybe that is a bit to dramatic…..The build is something that I wish I could participate more in.
I say this because I cannot be there in person as much as I would like to be, nor what was originally scheduled. I was originally scheduled to be on vacation just for this build so that I could be in the shop taking photos and video for you folks to see. That plan had to change when I had to be out of work for the last month due to hand surgery. The ironic thing about this is that my hand surgery was to remove bone fragments from my right hand that had broken free over a period of time. During that period of time, I had been smashing my hand on top of my Tac-Tote 3 Magazine Carrier to demonstrate just how strong the magnets are. The Tac-Tote never broke free, but me bones did. Small price to pay for a legit truthful story I think.

Day #2 has the folks in the shop screaming to get things done fast. By mid day I received a phone call from Steve who was concerned about my proposal to salvage the tailgate from the accident. Unfortunately this is a no-go as the internal damage required more work than anticipated. The work could be done for sure but it would steal away valuable time that could be spent in other areas after simply ordering a new tail gate.

During that phone call I was also informed that the truck is now ready for paint, which in this case is going to be a nice coat of Olive Drab Green MONSTALINER!

In conjunction with the olive drab skin, the vehicle will have the Tac-Tote logo in the color Pantone 137 as well as all of the other companies who were willing to participate in supporting the product and/or the platform for their demonstrations. (No more bone breaking allowed).

Day three will see even more progress of which even I have no knowledge of. I gave a deadline and I am staying the heck out of their way if I cannot be there in person.

Anticipated or known features not covered:

  • Fender Flares
  • Tires
  • sPOD
  • Lots of tubing

Not gonna lie, this is freaking me out just a little bit. LOL

Going as fast as they can.
