Day Four

With the truck bed now placed back on the frame after the rear end accident the other day, more prepping. The FabFours bumper did need some minor tweaking by these guys. In the end the bumper fits well and is anxiously awaiting its turn into the paint booth. By the end of the day the truck was inside the spray booth getting masked off by “Duck” and it and the bumper should be seeing some Monstaliner tomorrow and Wednesday. It would have been excellent to get both the front and rear bumpers here in time but that was not in the cards. In the mean time, and to get the truck on the road, we will be fabricating a rear bumper of sorts to be replaced when the FabFours rear bumper arrives.

Tires. Ya buddy. The Black Rhino wheels are amazing and the Nitto tires are HUGE (To me) for this build. Some may say that I will be sacrificing performance such as mileage with this added weight of the bumpers and tire size which is very true, however let us not forget what this vehicle is doing. This vehicle is a demonstration platform for demonstrating the Tac-Tote product line to people that use armored vehicles and or police cruisers. This build covers the outside appearance and due to time constraints the inside aspects will mostly come at a later time. Regardless of that, I cannot make a demonstration platform such as this without incurring some of the unfortunate aspects that comes with it.

People don’t buy LENCO Bearcats for their gas mileage.

Doesn’t look like much now but this is the material for the cage and the mock turret hatch. This is certainly going to take some time to build and turn some heads when it’s done! The mock Turret hatch is so that SWAT/SRT/ERT Police officers and their department heads can see a very good representation of how the Tac-Tote products will perform inside their respective vehicles.
