The accident that almost changed everything. Almost.

What could have turned into something very different and unfortunate………..did not.

As you will hear in the below video, I was recently in an accident getting off of 84 and onto the 91 on ramp. I normally try to be aware of the distance between myself and the vehicle in front of me but this time it was a close call. Not expending the traffic to come to a complete stop at the front of the off/on ramp it was just us motoring along in that lane when all of a sudden the brake lights came on and you just knew this was going to end at the very least poorly for someone.

I slammed on my brakes certain that I was going to smash into the car in front of me because it was approaching fast. The ABS kicked in and I was in it till she stopped. When I felt that the reduced speed had reached a point to safely perform more aggressive evasive actions I swerved and successfully went to the side of the car in front of me, missing it. No time to rejoice however because the ever recognizable demolition derby sound was soon to make itself heard.

The vehicle behind me could not stop which came crashing into the back of the Tacoma like a hammer. Based on the impact I thought for sure my arse end was going to look like draw bridge letting a battleship pass under it. But thankfully it did not. I went over to check on the unfortunate driver who was actually fairly fortunate in the grand scheme of things. His child seat was empty-its precious cargo dropped off just minutes before, and he himself was uninjured. I wish I could have gotten out of your way in time brother.

So, although I make light of the situation in the below video….keep your distance people, it may just save your life:)

And the JEEP that lost the fight.
